Welt am Draht / World on Wire
Wire is very likely the worlds most important semi-finished product. Coat hangers, shelving systems, chairs, lamp shades, telephone cables, electronic devices, power grids, fences, bicycle baskets, reinforced concrete (and therefore skyscrapers), steel cable and the Golden Gate Bridge; they all wouldn’t exist without wire. Therefore the cultural importance can’t be underestimated (from the internet to the space flight).
We are investigating the capabilities of this simple, yet amazingly versatile material.
From the business side, we were partnering up with the wire product company Drahtwaren-Fabrikation W.Classen GmbH.
The project was exhibited at the Lippisches Landesmuseum Detmold.
