Post-apocalyptic Artifacts (MA)
Apocalypse, the end of time, times of change conjures up a threatening scenario. However the Greek translation as »exposure, divine revelation« is significantly friendlier. Our world is in transition. Which direction we’ll take is uncertain, carry on as before is not an option. It is worthwhile investigating literature and film. Radical changes, downfalls, revolts and revolutions are used often, especially in science fiction. Also visions from the Bible, novels by Jules Verne, the film »Matrix« can help us simulate scenarios of a viable future. Therefor we have to set course in time.We are particularly interested in the world of artifacts. Which needs are essential for the respective scenario? What objects, furniture or architecture do we require? How will needless items be converted and reinterpreted. And how will materials and artifacts be put into a new context.
