Postfaktische Gestaltung / Post-truth Design
Design between Illusion and Disillusion
Post-truth Design is less based on truth and facts, but rather strives towards emotions and narratives.
The pair of words Postfaktisch/Post-truth was our starting point to examine their meaning in the field of design.
What does it mean to work with post-truth design; design that disguises facts and distorts realities? What is truth in a world of settings and scenographies?
We have deciphered the mechanisms of post-truth design and tried to take advantage of its rules. With the help of research and text-based work, we first had immersed ourselves in the long history of post-truth design, before have re-emerged to work on our own concepts and products in the post-truth context.
We have fact-checked our reality; we worked subversive; we tried to create our own new facts for new and old thruths.
Design between illusion and disillusion.
Part of this project was an excursion to Los Angeles and Las Vegas, where we also worked on short-films and photographies that you can both watch and see on our project website.
